I got my new Vive yesterday and really wanted to play it too. Went through the Vive setup, learned everything, everything went well. I played Gorn and it worked fine, but I couldn’t transfer the dashboard, every time I tried I got an update error in the job. I thought to restart SteamVR and everything will be fine. No, error 108, and I spent the new and yesterday’s time tearing off that tail with a hammer. I’ve tried everything.

  • The system tested and report noted that the ports were xHCI Universal Host Controllers and nothing that is normally incompatible.

Use USBDeview to remove all old drivers.

  • Vivi repeated the setup song several times and only danced when she told me that the HMD was recognized by both HDMI and USB, but both controllers remained blue.

  • I’m tired of reinstalling Windows. In vain.

Needless to say, I’m terribly upset. I live overseas in Japan and sold it in a PC store where it doesn’t accept returns (brand new, unopened) so I can’t just mail it back. I’ve been saving and waiting for this for so long, only to be swept away by an ambiguous and often unsolvable bug to even be able to play the game for over an hour but two.

Why is my Steam VR headset not found?

If anyone has had a similar situation and managed to fix or alleviate it, or even have some specific advice in general, I’d love to hear it. I consider the last resort to send a system report to Valve. If that doesn’t work, then I’m offI’ve exhausted all options, plus I’ve squandered all my financial wealth, and you can just throw it away and consider suicide. p>

Edit: I’ve attached the system account I submitted to Valve for those in the know.
